Why see Joffrey Ballet - Studies in Blue?

True blue winter melancholy

Studies In Blue, a stunning evening of dance is coming to the prestigious Chicago-based Joffrey Ballet this winter. The composition is inspired by Siri Hustvedt's piece A Plea For Eros, in which Hustvedt explores the depths of attraction, and why we fall in love with some people but not others. The work is accompanied by music from Peter Gregson, Jeremy Birchall, and Phillip Glass. A beautiful endeavor of melancholy and the depths of honesty, Studies in Blue is an essential viewing for the season!

The performance will feature three different works by a trio of choreographers, Liam Scarlett, Andrew McNicol, whose choreography appeared in the London 2012 Olympics, and Stina Quagebeur, who is currently serving as the Associate choreographer for the English National Ballet.
