James and The Giant Peach
The musical family favorite by the team behind La-La Land
Why see James and The Giant Peach?
Roald dahl's Family Favorite
A charming and wickedly funny musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's best-loved children's novel from the Tony Award-nominated composing team Pasek and Paul behind hits such as Dogfight and A Christmas Story The Musical and now the Academy Award winners behind La-La Land. First created in 2010, it received a well-critiqued premiere in 2013 at the Seattle Children's Theatre. Join James and his wildly fantastical family as they all embark on an adventure across the ocean that defies all expectations!
A strong message that celebrates non-traditional families, love and respect for each other, this charming tale is great for the whole family to enjoy!
What is the story?
Meet the young James Henry Trotter, whose parents were tragically eaten by a rogue rhinoceros. Orphaned, he is packed off to live with his absolutely awful aunts, who mistreat him in every way possible. However, when he discovers a peach in the garden, he plants the stone, and finds that it grows to an absolutely massive size! To make things even better, he is accompanied by six funny and friendly insects and invertebrates, who form a new family for James as they traverse across the sea from England to New York City!
