A Glorious Reinvention of Handel's Messiah

Chicago's own Too Hot to Handel Choir brings the music of Handel's famous 1741 work The Messiah to life with a modern twist. Re-imagined for the 21st century, the piece's melodies and text remain the same but rhythmic feel, orchestration and harmonic embellishment have been given a contemporary makeover that draws on the energy of gospel and soul. 

The annual show becomes an uplifting, vivacious celebration of life, religion and music; the audience is as much apart of the performance as the orchestra, maestro and choir. Gone are the days where concertgoers sit in hushed reverie, this is classical music for the new age!
