A zany, madcap adventure with delectably dark undertones

Like The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Little Shop Of Horrors forms part of the foundation of the comedy horror theatre tradition. Written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, the rock 'n' roll black comedy musical went from Off-Broadway quirk to cult phenomenon when it inspired the Oscar nominated 1986 film starring Rick Moranis. Now the production enjoys a local revival as part of the Drury Lane Theatre's brand new 2018/19 season.
The riotous story follows the misadventures of hapless floral shop worker Seymour Krelborn, who happens upon an unusual plant he's never seen the likes of before. Lovesick Seymour names it Audrey II after the object of his affections and colleague. Things take a sci-fi turn when Audrey II develops a consciousness, as well as a soulful singing voice. Oh, and a terrible thirst for human blood...
