Two of the most prodigious songwriters of the rock 'n' roll era are celebrated in this jubilant musical. The longest running musical revue in Broadway history, Smokey Joe's cafe presents 39 pop standards written by Jerry Lieber and Mike Stoller. Emerging as a veritable hit factory in the 1950s, the pair wrote chart-topper after chart-topper for acts like Elvis Presley and The Drifters, including 'Hound Dog', Jailhouse Rock', 'Yakety Yak', as well co-penning the iconic 'Strand By Me' alongside Ben E. King.
Smokey Joe's Cafe packs all of these numbers into a mile-a-minute procession of performances, with various cast members taking on the tracks solo or as a group. The show originally opened on Broadway in 1995, and ran for five years, picking up seven Tony nominations and a Grammy Award along the way.
