Terrible sound mixing

An artist as creative as Vile deserves to have his lyrics heard . The sound was mixed so poorly that his lyrics were not discernable . The bass drum drowned everything out , except for the three solo numbers Vile did . I was right near the mixing board , why these guys set this up and made no adjustments as the show progressed , is beyond me ! The sound for the opening act , Julia Shapiro was even worse . I had no clue what she was singing about .

Sound mixing was crap.

Kurt Vile is an amazing artist and this does not reflect upon his talent or quality of his play but directly focused at the sound mixing that is the worst I've heard in my life. The mixer obviously doesn't know how to do an effective sound check and adjust on the fly. I saw Kurt Vile in Memphis at minglewood Hall and the sound was amazing so my assumption is that they hire local people to do the sound at the venue.

Sound and lights were horrible

Not sure if Kurt had his own sound and lighting engineers or they were Taft’s. If they were Kurt’s, both need to be fired. If they were Taft’s engineers fire them too. I was so excited to see him in a theater but it was easily the worst sounding show I’ve ever seen. I came to hear Kurt’s vocals and his guitar. All I heard was a base rumble. It was so obnoxiously annoying. The lighting engineer was just as bad. It was like he was sleeping then woke up only to go back to sleep. Lights on and off the whole show. Weak. We lasted only an hour before walking out with headaches. Would have given the show 1 star but we enjoyed the three solo acoustic songs.
