The Cher Show

The Cher Show at Oriental Theatre

Why see The Cher Show?

Cher: The Musical!

Cher might not be able to turn back time but she can certainly give her blessing on a musical that will tell the story of her life, career, and how she became one of America's most treasured stars. The musical, that is due to premiere on Broadway in Fall 2018, is offering you the opportunity to see it first in this Pre-Broadway 5-week tryout.

Sometimes referred to as the Goddess of Pop, the road that led Cher to where she is now wasn't the easiest. At the young age of 16 Cher dropped out of school, left her Mothers house and moved to Los Angeles with her friend; at that time I don't think even Cher would have thought she'd become an international sensation. Now known for her unforgettable contralto singing voice and mass variety of style and appearance that only Cher can pull off.

All your favourite Cher hits will be supporting the telling of her story, be sure to listen out for; 'Believe', 'Half Breed', 'Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves' and many more.

Be sure to grab your leather jacket and get ready for a night to remember!

A VISUAL FEAST FOR THE EYS

I came to the show with no expectations. How would they ever be able to fit her entire 50 plus year career into just a few hours? But they did a really good job of including the highlights. We see her go from child to superstar before out eyes. The three ladies playing her did really great jobs. People need to remember that they are actresses not Cher impersonators. This is a representation of Cher, her power, strength and tenacity is what shows in this piece. The costumes were nothing short of flawless. So many iconic outfits were represented on stage. The audience applauded her most famous outfits. The sets and lighting were well done. A great use of stage space. The rest of the ensemble was great, Sonny was really good and the actor portraying Gregg Allman did a great job as well. As for dancers and rest of the cast. they were all on point and should be commended. I can't say anything bad about about the show. I loved it and plan on seeing it again. . ... Read more

I laughed and I cried

Not only was the show hysterical as it poked fun at the iconic diva, but it gave real insight into the trials and tribulations during her rise to fame. At times I actually cried. I've always been a fan, but my 21 year old daughter who saw the show with me, now has a new found love for Cher, and we were both left the theater craving more. I've had the pleasure of seeing Cher live in Chicago before, and believe me, this is the next best thing ! ... Read more
