The Joffrey Ballet presents multifarious Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman's riff on the Scandinavian Midsummer celebration once more as part of the esteemed company's 2023/24 season. A delightful reverie, the dancers run wild as they enjoy the romance and mystery of the longest day of the year, a timeless Scandi tradition.
Set to an imaginative rhythm by Mikael Karlsson, we're treated to the glorious moment that the tentative line between the supernatural and the human world blurs, filling the stage with vibrance and joy as the 40 performers drink, dance, and fall in love!

Wonderfully, Surreally Entertaining
I just watched the Joffrey Ballet’s production of Midsummer Night’s Dream! (Bought a 2nd row ticket last night at the spur of the moment!) I absolutely LOVED it; Although I had no idea what the plot was, I had the best time watching the great looking and talented cast transport me with then into their surreal dreamland of flying beds, flying fish, upside down pine trees and a cast bursting at the seams with pretty young women and hot lean muscley mens!!! I would definitely watch this again!!! Note: this ballet isn’t for kids —they will not understand nor appreciate its avant garde presentation. Plus their parents might not like the tight flesh colored tights the cast wears in the 2nd half! ... Read more
