Why see Houston Ballet: Aladdin?
Houston Ballet presents the American premiere of celebrated English choreographer David Bintley's ballet Aladdin, a magical tale of love and trickery.
A confrontation with palace guards leads a young tearaway into a fast-paced adventure involving unbelievable riches, love, treachery, and of course, an enchanted lamp.
Aladdin was originally created for the New National Ballet of Japan in 2008, and features spectacularly scenery by the celebrated designer Dick Bird and an original score by Carl Davis, behind such celebrated television scores including Pride and Prejudice, Cranford, The World at War and Up Pompeii.
