Alabama Shakes are heading out on tour in support of the sophomore album Sound & Color. Featuring lead single Don't Wanna Fight, it's set to be yet another shot of propulsive blues rock from the Athens band. They're playing in , ,
Formed in 2009, the group's ascension from neighbourhood band to nationwide stars was a rapid one, with lead singer Brittany Howard's unmistakable raw vocals (much compared to Janis Joplin) garnering much of the attention. Debut album Boys & Girls was released in 2012, spearheaded by their signature track Hold On as lead single, and shot up the Billboard charts. Many Letterman and Kimmel performances later, and the record has sold upwards of half a million copies in North America alone. They're joined on tour by African rock band Songhoy Blues.
