A Doll's House, Part 2

A Doll's House, Part 2 at Steppenwolf Theatre

Why see A Doll's House, Part 2?

When one door closes

One of the most polarising characters in 19th-century literature, Nora Helmer left her husband, children, and nanny behind 15 years ago in a bid to escape her flimsy marriage and carve a life outside of society's expectation. Now she is back after nearly two decades of silence and in need of a favor. Will those she left behind be able to forgive her or does the price of freedom come laden with interest?

After premiering on the West Coast in 2017 and a highly successful, seven time Tony-nominated run (and one win for Laurie Metcalf) Off Broadway, the Steppenwolf will now present one of the most uproarious and sought after sequels in recent times.

Drawing upon Ibsen's masterly critique of the bourgeois marriage and the woman's role within and without it, A Doll's House, Part 2 continues to explore the theme whilst adding to it expertly, asking further questions about societal expectation, tradition and opinion with wit and expertly pitched drama.
