Why see Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Boccherini, Vivaldi and Mozart?
The flair of the guitar
Chicago Symphony Orchestra welcomes Spanish guitar virtuoso Pablo Sainz-Villegas for an evening of incredible musicianship, as he brings his mediterranean flair to Vivaldi's Guitar Concerto in D Major and Boccherini's Fandango from Guitar Quintet No. 4 in D Major, conducted by the returning Bernard Labadie.
Also featuring is Mozart's Symphony No. 40 and Boccherini's Symphony No. 26 in C Minor, two enormous and ominous minor symphonies, which sandwich the program. Conductor Labadie joins from his regular posts as music director for La Chapelle De Quebec and principal conductor of the Orchestra of St. Luke's.
