Andre Rieu

Why see Andre Rieu?

The Waltz King of Europe!

Known affectionately as 'the Waltz King of Europe', Andre Rieu was raised on classical music and began taking fiddling lessons at the age of five. He conducts the Strauss Opera and has recorded public-television specials in the United States as well as music albums for Polygram

A Dutch national, Andre Rieu was born in the Netherlands to an orchestra conductor father. Although his aptitude for music was clear from a young age, it's his rock-star approach to classical concerts that have helped him make a name for himself around the world! His self-confessed dream is to make the traditionally very serious genre more accessible, and as any of his concerts will reveal, him and his orchestra are doing just that! From the joyous atmosphere to the dazzling-yet-tasteful light shows, Andre Rieu creates music that you don't just hear - you experience it with all of your senses!

Andre Rieu appeared on stage alone in Chicago early in 1976 but I had never seem nor heard of him

He was absolutely the greatest and I remember the notes of the violin as remaining in the air and woodwork of that old music hall. He was unknown in the states, but I remember vividly the greatness of that solo performance. ... Read more

Andre Rieu in Columbus Ohio

Absolutely amazing concert at the Schottenstein Center on Thursday night. His orchestra is second to none and the singers are top notch. His music covers not only classical but pop and show tunes and even a Gospel Choir which was awesome! He and the JSO gave you your monies worth and more. If he is ever in your area RUN to go see this very talented musician, you will not regret it. My dream is to attend one of his outdoor concerts in his hometown of Maastricht. 🤞 ... Read more

First Time ... Loved It!

What a fun, happy show and even though I don’t like opera, I really appreciated the fantastic voices of all the singers. At the end it got crazy fun and I really felt sorry for the people who left early to beat the exit crowd. They missed the best part! Highly, highly recommended! ... Read more
