Why see Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil?

The Lady Chablis Presents To You A Story Like No Other

Coming to Chicago for its world premiere is the new musical Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The play is based on John Berendt's New York Times best-seller novel of the same name which was released in 1994. The show stars J. Harrison Ghee, the world's first Tony Award-winning non-binary actor, Olivier nominee Sierra Boggess, and Tony nominee Tom Hewitt. Newly announced for the production are Lance Roberts (The Best Man) as Bobby Lewis, Austin Colby (The Great Gatsby) as Danny Hansford, Bailee Endebrock (Parade) as Corrine Strong and many more!

Taking the helm as the production's director is Tony Award-winning Rob Ashford, whose previous credits include Frozen, Evita, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. It's not every day that you get to see a real-life story turned into a musical, so get your tickets now!

What's it about?

In 1981 in Savannah, Georgia, a young man by the name of Danny Hansford was shot by his employer, antiques dealer Jim Williams. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil follows Williams and the local community throughout all four of the trials for the murder of Hansford.

LOVED IT!

Not sure if Sadly Speaking and I saw the same show...yes this show was about a tragedy - but I felt that one of the show's successes was to create a balance between tragedy and comedy. All of the leads were perfectly cast - and crushed their roles in the show. J Harrison Ghee was particularly spot on as Lady Chablis. Loved the music/score by Jason Robert Brown. Attended with four others and we all loved it! ... Read more
